The Accords
The rules of the city. Short on purpose — read them once, they hold all Winter.
I. One commander, one province
One account per person, one province per Winter. Households, dorms, and shared networks are welcome — separate people are separate commanders. What is not welcome: running extra accounts to feed your main with land, money, units, or intelligence. Feeder accounts and the provinces they feed are both removed.
II. Play the game, not the machine
No bots, scripts, or automation — the game is balanced for humans with fifteen minutes, twice a day. If you find a bug or an exploit, report it at the Signal Desk (or email command@embergrad.com) instead of farming it: reporters earn our thanks and a place in the round notes; abusers earn Section VI.
III. War is the game — cruelty is not
Raid, besiege, spy, hold grudges, write war poetry on the forum. That is the game, and no apology is owed for playing it hard. But the person behind the province is off-limits: no harassment, hate, threats, doxxing, or spam in chat, forums, messages, province names, or mottos. The line is simple — attack provinces, never people.
IV. The Winter contract
Every Winter runs start to finish under the rules and numbers it began with — balance changes land between rounds, never mid-round. When the Winter ends, the world resets; what you keep is your place on the Memorial Wall. The reset is not a bug. The reset is the game.
V. Supporters never buy power
The Ember Pass keeps the lights on and buys flair, convenience, and our gratitude — never turns, money, units, morale, accuracy, or protection. If a perk would ever tilt a battle, it doesn't ship. This pledge binds us more than it binds you.
VI. Enforcement
Graduated and explained: a warning where a warning suffices, a sealed bunker (timed suspension) where it doesn't, a ban where nothing else will. You will always be shown the reason. Appeals go to command@embergrad.com and are read by a human.
VII. Your data
We store what the game needs: your email (to verify you and to send the alerts you switch on), an optional phone number if you enable SMS, and your play history. We never sell any of it. Want your account and personal data gone? Email command@embergrad.com and it will be — your battles remain in the round's history under an anonymous name, the way fallen provinces always have.
By enlisting you accept the Accords. They may be amended between Winters — never during one.
